Alaska Mountain Elopement | Powerline Pass

Alaska

Alaska mountain elopement.

My good friends Justin and Julie were married out of state last year, but we decided Alaska portraits needed to happen in her wedding dress. 2020 has been the year of elopements and I thought these served as great inspiration for how fun it can be. It’s especially beautiful during Alaska’s short fall season when the tundra is on fire in front of golden light.

Pro Tip: Fall is deceptive! When the suns in your skin you can almost imagine summer is hanging around. But especially if you are out during sunset temps drop quickly. Even as early as September it’s good to have that puffer coast on hand. Behind the camera i’m in full winter gear by October and always have plenty of hand and foot warmers to share. Don’t let that scare you though! Fall and winter portraits are often some of the most spectacular way up north, and bring a whole new sense of adventure to your shoot.
